Zimy is a film director and engaged conservationist.
With years of experience in the filmmaking and photography industry, he always used his skills to promote conservation.
Since his younger age, he’s always been passionate about sharks and the ocean ! They’ve always represented the most iconic apex predators in the entire world !
When he truly realized what was going on in the world’s oceans and the fact that sharks are currently disappearing faster than ever, he decided to dedicate his life to this cause.
And this is how Deep Sea Guardians was born…
GAIL
DSG head of operations
Gail is a swiss based digital marketing expert and social media strategist.
Her deep love for nature, and especially the underwater world logically brought her to ocean conservation.
In 2021, she decided to join Zimy and co-founded Deep Sea Guardians.
By joining their complementary skills, they built this NGO to educate people about the threats our oceans are facing and to promote a positive change to ensure a healthy future for the world’s underwater ecosystems.

PIERRICK SEYBALD
Shark behaviorist
Pierrick Seybald, a waterman from French Polynesia, has a lifetime of experience in the waters and especially with sharks.
Over time, he has built a huge experience in shark handling and became one of the best shark behaviorist in the world, especially with Tiger Sharks.
He founded his own NGO called Ma’o Mana Foundation to enforce shark protection throughout French Polynesia.
EVANS BAUDIN
Shark expert
Evans Baudin, originally from France, spent his entire life studying sharks in different places of the world.
Recently, he settled down in Baja California Sur, Mexico where he founded his own shark diving company: Baja Shark Experience.
Evans is an expert with pelagic shark species and we’ve been closely collaborating with Evans for several years now, not only to run expeditions but also for our Mako Shark Tagging research project.
DR. DARREN WHITEHEAD
Marine biologist
Dr. Darren Andrew Whitehead is an English marine biologist and shark expert.
He’s been working with sharks for years and is now based in Baja California Sur where he runs his NGO Shark Research Mexico.
We’re collaborating with Darren and his NGO for our Mako Shark Research project for which he is the lead scientist. Find more infos about this project by clicking here.

GABO VELAZQUEZ
Shark expert
Born and raised in Mexico, Gabo is a highly skilled shark diver with years of experience diving and interacting with sharks all over Mexico.
He’s Baja Shark Experience’s right hand man and will always be down for an after-shark-dive beer as long as we blast some heavy metal !
We’ve already run several expeditions under his guidance and he’s also been part of our Mako Shark Tagging research project.
