SHARK REALM:

THE ENDANGERED QUEENS OF BIMINI

THE FILM

SHARK REALM: THE ENDANGERED QUEENS OF BIMINI is a film directed, shot and edited by our founder Zimy (@zimydakid) starring both Zimy and fellow shark advocate and shark feeder Logan Kanan (@sharkl0ve), shot with the help of Gail Nyff (@gailthebrave).

The film was powered by 360 camera brand Insta360 (@insta360) and it will take you on a unique journey in Bimini, The Bahamas to meet the local Queens: Gaïa and Joker, learn more about them and how unique they are but also get to understand the things that threaten their legacy and make their future so insecure !

In the film you’ll also learn more about shark feeding and how it helps protect these fragile animals.

MORE THAN 5.7 MILLION VIEWS

The project cumulated more 5’707’000 VIEWS and counting (counted on December 9th 2023) on Instagram which is a huge impact and visibility for shark conservation and to promote a positive image to these animals that are usually seen more as monsters rather than apex predators.

Being able to collaborate with brands like Insta360 and use their platform to promote shark conservation is a huge achievement for us.

Most views have accumulated across 3 main account: @insta360 (1.7 million followers), @zimydakid (director and producer of the film with more than 125k followers) and @sharkl0ve (shark feeder in the film with more than 17k followers).

A SUCCESSFUL SHARK CONSERVATION CAMPAIGN

2’144usd for shark conservation thanks to 2’144 Instagram comments !

On top of the film itself, Insta360 made a fund raising campaign for shark conservation.

For every comment on the Instagram post of the video release, Insta360 donated 1usd which accumulated more than 2’000usd that we’ll use to fund GPS Satellite Tags for future research to better understand and protect endangered Mako sharks in Baja California Sur, Mexico.
