Join us on a once in a lifetime experience and find yourself face to face with Mako sharks, the fastest sharks in the world, as well as Blue sharks, Sea Lions and more while supporting shark conservation and learning photography and videography with our founder Zimy Da Kid !

When?
The expedition will take place from March 18 to March 24 2024 for 7 days of underwater adventures.
What?
Swim with Mako sharks, Blue sharks, Sea lions, possibly Orcas and Mobula rays while learning videography and photography as well as shark conservation with us and our local partners and NGOs.
How many people?
For the best experience, we keep our group small with a maximum of 6 people.

Nestled at the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula, Baja California Sur is a place like no other. Its rich waters host an incredible array of marine life, including Mako sharks, Blue sharks, Sea lions, Humpback whales, Orcas and a lot more !
By joining our expeditions, you don’t only get to live an unforgettable experience with some of our planet most authentic marine species but you also support shark conservation as 100% of the profits of all our expeditions is going to the different shark conservation projects we lead.

WHAT WILL WE ENCOUNTER ?

Mako Sharks
Mako Sharks are the fastest sharks in the ocean and Baja California Sur is one of the best place in the world to see this endangered species. Once you jump in the water with them, you’ll directly feel their unique energy and you’ll never want to come out !

Blue Sharks
Blue Sharks are without a single doubt one of the best, if not the best, shark species to dive and interact with. Their curious nature make them super friendly, not hesitating to come to contact with the divers !

Sea Lions
Sea Lions are like puppies, but underwater ! They’ll come to you, play around, bite your fins (as you can see on the photo), make flips and everything. Diving with them is too much fun !

The ocean is huge and full of mysteries and since we’ll spend a lot of time out there looking for animals, we might be able to see Orcas or dive with Mobula Rays. We’ll see lots of Humpback whales from the boat as well !
THE MIGHTY MAKO SHARK !
The Shortfin Mako is the fastest shark in the world but is also endangered because of the constant pressure of fishing boats that are constantly harvesting his territory. Baja California is one of the only place in the world where we can regularly find them.
Mako sharks are pelagic species meaning that they spend their entire life in the open ocean, far from shore !
In order to find them, we’ll head out at sea in key locations far from the coast that are only known by our local crew. Once there, the waiting game starts… Mako sharks are amazing predators and always hunting for the same kind of fish. Therefore, we’re using a specific type of chum that we know they like eating in order to have the highest chances of successfully attracting them.
Once they show up, we all get ready and slowly slide in the water to enjoy the show. Makos are amazing sharks to interact with. Being the fastest sharks in the ocean, they aren’t afraid of us in the water and can be super interactive with us which makes unique encounters !
We have a highly experienced crew and always collaborate with the best local shark divers for perfect safety in the water.
WORKSHOP
On all of our expeditions the interesting things won’t stop once we get out of the water.
During this expedition, film director and photographer Zimy Da Kid will give a photography and videography workshop that will help you improve your skills.
Workshop will include:
Filmmaking and photography basics
Underwater filmmaking and photography
Understanding light and composition
Video editing (color grading, speed ramping, cutting, etc…)
Photography editing
Zimy will be here on the entire expedition to help you create amazing visuals in action !
Moreover, depending on everyone’s wishes and needs, the workshop content will be prepared to fit the guest’s expectations.
In order to do so, Zimy will contact each of the guests before the expedition to know what they’re most interested in learning !

During the week, our team will be here and will capture everything !
By the end of the expedition, all the guests will be given a full photo and video package that will include all the images captured by our team.
That way, even if you don’t have any fancy camera or if you don’t feel like shooting and just want to enjoy the dives, you’ll still be able to go home with the best memories ever !
LEARN MORE ABOUT SHARK CONSERVATION AND HELP LOCAL SHARK FISHERMEN MAKE A SHIFT IN THEIR PROFESSION !
For this expedition, we’re teaming up with a local NGO called Orgcas !
Orgcas is a team of women creating marine conservation solutions through science, communication, education, and local-based tourism.
On the 6th and 7th day of the expedition, we’ll spend an entire day with them and meet the local shark fishermen.
We’ll get to know the fishermen, how they work, why they do this job but we’ll also learn about creative ways to help them make a shift in their profession and find new ways to make a living without having to kill sharks.
This is why, we’ll go out at sea with them and hire them, their knowledge about the ocean and their boat to look for animals to dive with !
Eco-tourism is one of the solutions we can put in place to help these fishermen make a living without having to fish for sharks. Thanks to this expedition and all of the guests being part of it, we’ll help them make an income that doesn’t involve any shark fishing !

DIVING PROGRAM
We’ll spend the first 4 days mainly looking for pelagic sharks: Makos and Blues. Day 5 will be spent with the cute Sea lions. The last 2 days of the expedition, we’ll be out at sea with a local NGO and shark fishermen to look for animals to dive with and to learn more about ways to help sharks by helping fishermen !

REQUIREMENTS
You don’t need any specific diving licence but you need to be confident in the open ocean and a good swimmer obviously. These activities are snorkeling activities meaning that we will spend most of the time at the surface but if you are into freediving, we’ll be more than happy to dive down with you and meet the animals deeper ! On the 5th day with the Sea Lions, you can choose to freedive or scuba with them.

A dive Insurance is mandatory for this trip, we recommend DAN (find more infos here).

GEAR
If you have your own gear, definitely bring everyhing with you: mask, snorkel, camera, fins and wetsuit ! Water can be a bit cold so we recommend bringing a 5mm or even 7mm wetsuit. If you don’t have anything, all the gear you need will be available on the boats too.
HUMPBACK WHALE MIGRATION
During the entire expedition, we’ll get several chances to observe Humpback Whales cruising by as it’ll be the time during which they migrate along the coasts of Baja California.
Unfortunately, we won’t be able to get in the water as it is not allowed to dive with Humpback Whales in Mexico but we’ll definitely get a chance to capture beautiful images of these amazing animals from our boat.
And if we get lucky, they might even come close for a little splash…
PROGRAM
DAY 1 - March 18th 2024
In the morning, we’ll all meet in Cabo San Lucas and check in at our villa. In the afternoon, we’ll head out at sea for our first shark diving day !
DAY 2 - March 19th 2024
We’ll spend the whole day out at sea looking for pelagic sharks, mainly Makos and Blues but also any marine mammals we can encounter such as orcas for example.
DAY 3 - March 20th 2024
For the third day, we’ll be spending the entire day out at sea again with sharks !
DAY 4 - March 21st 2024
We’ll start the day by spending the entire morning at sea looking for pelagic sharks and then, we’ll make our way to La Paz in the afternoon by private transportation.
DAY 5 - March 22nd 2024
We will spend the whole day at sea swimming with one of the biggest Sea Lion colony of Mexico !
DAY 6 - March 23rd 2024
We will spend the day with the local NGO Orgcas as well as local shark fishermen to learn more about the issues sharks are facing nowadays but also how we can help sharks by helping shark fishermen !
We’ll first meet the fishermen, learn about their lives and then go out at sea with them to look for animals to dive with !
DAY 7 - March 24th 2023
For our last day, we will go out at sea with the fishermen again to look for more animals and then we’ll make our way back to Cabo San Lucas to wrap up this epic expedition !

WHY SHOULD YOU CHOOSE TO GO ON AN EXPEDITION WITH US ?

It might sound obvious since it’s the goal of the whole expedition but you’ll get to experience unique wildlife encounters !
It is very important to keep in mind that none of it must be taken for granted and that being able to see, dive and interact with such animals is something truly unique because most of the animals we’ll encounter are highly endangered of extinction because of the constant pressure of overfishing.
Some of the shark species we’ll encounter are even Critically Endangered so it is very important for us to always remain thankful to be able to witness such unique animals.

By joining our expeditions, you’ll get to learn more about filmmaking and photography with our founder Zimy (@zimydakid) who’s been working for many years in the film industry !
He’ll share valuable insights on how to properly shoot both photos and videos for above and underwater including best settings, camera movements, etc…
You’ll also spend time editing all together to learn more about his post-production process: pre-production, color grading, speed ramping, client communication and more !

At the end of the week, we’ll give everyone a photo package that includes all the best images of the expedition ! That way, if you’re used to being behind the camera, you’ll also have beautiful pictures of yourself and if you don’t even have a camera, you’ll still head back home with tons of images to share !

During the week, we’ll make a presentation to teach everyone more about sharks: the issues they’re facing, what makes them so important for the health of our oceans and our planet and what can be done to help protect them !
We’ll share an exclusive insight into our on-going shark conservation projects and the different people we work with !

100% of the proceeds of all our expeditions is entirely used to fund our on-going shark conservation projects !

A deposit of 1’500usd needs to be paid in order to book your spot.
The rest of the expedition price must be paid by February 18th 2024.
The expedition will happen with a minimum of 4 persons.
We want things to be fair for everyone. This is why in case of cancellation, we’ll fully refund the client if we have enough time to find someone else to take the spot.
